The countdown begins to one of Australia’s great racing events – the 2008 Golden Slipper Festival. With only eleven days to go, the carnival will kick off with day one of the Festival, Myer Ladies’ Day at Canterbury Park on Saturday, 5 April.
To celebrate the commencement of this year’s Festival, Sydney Turf Club is pleased to announce its new and innovative celebrity ambassador program.
Two key ambassadors have been selected to promote the Festival with four additional ambassadors being carefully selected to promote individual days or events within the two week period. All ambassadors will appear at the majority of events.
Sydney Turf Club Ambassadors include:
- Ali Mutch, Model / TV Presenter – Named as Inside Sport magazine’s Model of the Decade, Ali has since moved on from the modelling world to combine her outgoing onscreen personality with her stunning good looks to become one of Australia’s most recognisable presenters.
- Ryan Phelan, Sports Commentator / TV Presenter – Having worked as a presenter for Sky Racing, Network Ten’s Sports Tonight, and ESPN in the US, Ryan was also crowned Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year in 2005.
