Ballot exemption for 2008 AAMI Golden Slipper

The world’s richest race for two-year-olds
Saturday, 19 April 2008 - Rosehill Gardens

Due to the effects of Equine Influenza and the large number of unraced two-year-olds in NSW and QLD, the balloting system for the 2008 AAMI Golden Slipper has been altered.

Sydney Turf Club in acknowledging the severe disadvantage of these horses will exempt for the first time both first and second placegetters in four Group 2 races from the AAMI Golden Slipper ballot.

The following races will provide ballot exemption clauses for the 2008 AAMI Golden Slipper:

Silver Slipper (2yo’s) Rosehill Gardens, 15 March 2008 - First only

Sweet Embrace Stakes (2yo fillies) Royal Randwick, 29 March 2008 - First only

Skyline Stakes (2yo c&g’s) Royal Randwick, 29 March 2008 - First only

Reisling Stakes (2yo fillies) Canterbury Park, 5 April 2008 - First and Second

Todman Stakes (2yo c&g’s) Canterbury Park, 5 April 2008 - First and Second

Magic Night Stakes (2yo fillies) Rosehill Gardens, 12 April 2008 - First and Second

Pago Pago Stakes (2yo c&g’s) Rosehill Gardens, 12 April 2008 - First and Second

AAMI Golden Slipper second acceptances ($500 ) close 3pm Tuesday, 18 March 2008

AAMI Golden Slipper late entries ($150,000) close 11am Monday, 14 April 2008

AAMI Golden Slipper final acceptances close 10am Tuesday, 15 April 2008.
