CityRail will provide extra services on Saturday for Sydney Swans fans and
Rosehill racegoers.
“CityRail has extra services for the 30,000 fans going to ANZ Stadium for the
Swans game. Gates open at 3.10pm with the first bounce at 7.10pm,” said
CityRail spokesperson Cie’Jai Leggett.
Customers travelling from the Inner West, North Shore or South line stations
are advised to travel to Lidcombe station and change for the Olympic Park
Sprint, which departs every 10 minutes.
Direct shuttle services will also operate every 8 to 15 minutes between
Central and Olympic Park Station from 4pm until 12.30am.
On the Blue Mountains Line eastbound services will make an additional stop
at Lidcombe station between 4pm – 7.30pm to allow passengers to catch the
Olympic Park Sprint service.
After the game trains from Olympic Park to Central will operate every five
minutes, with the last service departing at 12.30am.
Additional North Shore line services will depart Central at 10.50pm, 11.16pm
and 11.46pm to get passengers home.
“Remember to keep your ticket safe for your return journey, as you must have
a valid ticket when travelling on public transport,” said Ms Leggett.
“All tickets to the game include entry and travel on public transport.”
Saturday is also Darley Guineas Day at Rosehill Races, with gates open from
10am.
Extra CityRail services include:
- Direct services from Central station to Rosehill departing Central at
10.01am, 10.29am and 10.59am.
- Shuttle services between Circular Quay and Rosehill every 30 minutes
from 11.38am
- Additional services operate regularly between Clyde and Rosehill from
8.37am
“We also have a shuttle service to get you home, with the last service
departing Rosehill at 6.22pm.
We urge customers to plan ahead and check train times before travelling.
“Trackwork arrangements are also in place on the North Shore, Northern,
Newcastle & Central Coast and Hunter lines, with buses replacing some train
services,” said Miss Leggett.
