CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
What is Corporate Governance?
Corporate governance is the system by which organisations are directed and managed. It influences how the objectives of the Club are set and achieved, how risk is monitored, assessed and controlled and how performance is optimised.
A sound corporate governance structure encourages organisations to create value for their stakeholders and provides accountability and control systems commensurate with the risks involved.
The Board of Directors of Sydney Turf Club is responsible for tech corporate governance of the Club. The Board has adopted best practice principles of governance to ensure that the interests of the Club, its members, staff and other stakeholders, including the Troroughbred Racing Industry, are protected.
The Board has adopted the governance principles issued by the ASX Corporate Covernance Council in March 2003 and appropriately applied those principles that are relevant to the management and operations of the Club.
