TRIFECTA requires you to select the three horses that will finish FIRST, SECOND and THIRD - in the CORRECT order.

BOX TRIFECTA allows you to select 3 or more horses that can finish FIRST, SECOND and THIRD in ANY order. e.g. If you box the horses 1, 2 & 3 you receive 6 combinations with which you can win the TRIFECTA:

STANDOUT TRIFECTA combines a horse you select to finish FIRST with two or more runners to finish SECOND and THIRD in ANY order. e.g. if you STANDOUT horse no. 1 to finish FIRST with Nos. 2, 3 & 4 to finish SECOND and THIRD in any order you receive 6 combinations with which you can win the TRIFECTA.

MULTIPLE TRIFECTA is where two or more horses selected to finish FIRST are combined with a number of other runners to finish SECOND and THIRD. e.g. If you select Nos. 1 & 2 to finish FIRST with no's 1,2,3,& 4 to finish SECOND and THIRD (1-2 / 1-2-3-4) you receive 12 combinations with which you can win the TRIFECTA:

  • Minimum bet is 50c. All dividends are declared as $1 unit.
  • Always check that the printed details on your ticket are correct before you leave the window.
  • Do not discard your ticket until correct weight has been declared.

Customers please note:

"ROVER" or "ROVING BANKER" bets are now available on Trifecta, First 4, Exacta and Superfecta pools.

A simple explanation of a "ROVER" bet is that a selection is designated the "ROVER" and will appear in each position of the bet type.

You may also have a "FLEXI-ROVER" bet.

Set out below are some examples of a "ROVER" bet.

Trifecta

2 as the ROVER from 6,7 and 8 gives you the following combinations:-

Cost for $1 dollar is $18. Half for 50 cents.

First 4

2 as the ROVER from 5, 6 and 7 gives you the following combinations:-

2/5 6 7/5 6 7/ 5 6 7 5 6 7/2/5 6 7/5 6 7 5 6 7/5 6 7/2/5 6 7 and 5 6 7/5 6 7/5 6 7/2

Cost for $1 dollar is $24. Half for 50 cents.
