Closing Dates & Conditions

2009 THE BMW (GROUP 1) SWFA 2400 METRES

Australia's only Group 1 Weight For Age event over the classic distance of 2400m.  

For three year olds and upwards, to be run on turf (right handed) at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, Sydney, Australia on Saturday 4th April 2009 over 2400 metres.

Prizemoney to be not less than $AUD 2,250,000 plus trophies.

  • Prizemoney is exclusive of GST.
  • All fees are inclusive of GST.       

THE BMW ENTRY AND ACCEPTANCE FEES

Nominations – Nominations close at 3pm Tuesday 3rd February 2008. Fee - $AUD 500.

Late Entry – Late Entries close at 11am on Monday 30th March 2009 on payment of the Late Entry Fee of $AUD 60,000 inc GST (which includes Final Acceptance fee).

Final Acceptances – Final Acceptances close at 10am Tuesday 31st March 2009. Fee - $AUD 17,000 inc GST.

Note: Any declaration not received by the time specified will be automatically rejected and the entry shall lapse. The Directors of the Sydney Turf Club reserve the right to reject at any time any nomination or acceptance for this race.

All fees quoted are inclusive of GST. All prizemoney quoted is exclusive of GST.

GENERAL RACE CONDITIONS

  1. 1. The field maximum for this race is 14 with provision of two emergencies should they be required.
  2. 2. A final acceptor must have previously won or been placed in a Black Type event, either locally or internationally.
  3. 3. Committee Discretion
  4. Sydney Turf Club Directors reserve the right to decline any nomination and/or acceptance lodged with Sydney Turf Club or Trainers Service Centre (TSC) from a licensed trainer with outstanding debts from any of the following races: AAMI Golden Slipper, The BMW & Tooheys New Golden Rose.

The Committee of the Sydney Turf Club may at their absolute discretion:-

  • Exclude any horse or horses from the 2008 The BMW irrespective of whether or not the field maximum has been reached.
  • Exempt any horse or horses from a ballot.
  • Select the field to compete in the 2008 The BMW and in so doing have regard to, but not be bound by, the race conditions set out above.
